Terms of Use
Last updated 4 November 2026
Welcome to WeUplifted. These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use the WeUplifted app. Please read them. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
WeUplifted is operated by Sulaiman Baruwa, Marientaler Straße 24, 12437 Berlin, Germany ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@weuplifted.com.
2. WeUplifted is not medical care
WeUplifted offers affirmations, journaling, mood tracking, stories, audio and a supportive community for everyday wellbeing and self-reflection. It is not a medical, psychological or therapeutic service and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any illness. Nothing in the app is professional advice, and it does not replace a doctor, therapist or counsellor.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, contact your local emergency number now (112 in the EU, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US and Canada) or a crisis line. You can find free helplines in your country at findahelpline.com.
3. Who can use WeUplifted
You must be at least 16 years old. By using the app you confirm that you are, and that you are allowed to agree to these terms.
You can use WeUplifted as a guest or with an account. Keep your sign-in method secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.
4. WeUplifted Plus subscriptions
Most of WeUplifted is free and has no ads. WeUplifted Plus is an optional subscription that unlocks extra features, such as every topic, Plus podcast episodes and unlimited personal affirmations. The features included are described in the app and may change over time; we will not take away the core of what you paid for during a paid period.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Automatic renewal: subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trials: if a free trial is offered, you are charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Cancelling: manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription by itself. After cancelling, Plus stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules. Your statutory rights are not affected.
- Price changes: if the price changes, Apple or Google will tell you in advance and, where the law requires it, ask for your agreement.
- Restoring: use "Restore purchases" on the Plus screen if you change phones.
Right of withdrawal (EU/UK): for digital content and services you buy through the App Store or Google Play, the store's terms and refund procedures apply. When you start a subscription you ask for it to begin straight away and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal ends once the service has fully started, to the extent the law allows.
5. Your content
You own what you write. Your journal entries, moods, letters, poems, posts, comments and messages remain yours.
To run the app, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, back up and display your content, only as needed to provide WeUplifted to you and, for content you share in the community, to show it to other members. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others have already re-shared it with your permission or we must keep it by law.
You are responsible for what you share. Only post content you have the right to share, and never share someone else's private information.
6. The community
Our Community Guidelines are part of these terms. Please read them before you post. In short: be kind, keep each other safe, respect privacy, and no hate, harassment, explicit content or spam.
We may review reported content and remove anything that breaks these terms or the law, limit features, or suspend or close accounts, depending on how serious and repeated the issue is. Where possible we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. You can appeal by writing to us.
7. Things you must not do
- break the law or help anyone else to;
- harass, threaten, bully or impersonate others;
- upload malware, or try to access accounts or data that are not yours;
- scrape, copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app or its content, except where the law allows it;
- use bots or automation to create accounts, posts, likes or points;
- abuse rewards, streak freezes, referrals or trials;
- use WeUplifted to advertise or sell things without our permission.
8. Our content
The app, its design, the affirmations, stories, poems we provide, audio, illustrations and the Uppy character are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them in the app for your own, non-commercial use. You may share individual affirmation cards using the share feature in the app.
9. Changes and availability
We keep improving WeUplifted, so features may change, be added or be removed. We try to keep the app available at all times but cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. If we make a change that significantly affects a paid feature, we will tell you in advance.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using WeUplifted at any time and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires us to. If we end access without a good reason related to your conduct, we will refund any prepaid, unused subscription period where we are able to.
11. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where mandatory law (such as product liability law) provides for it.
For slight negligence, we are only liable if we breach an essential obligation that makes the proper use of the app possible and that you can normally rely on. In that case our liability is limited to the typical, foreseeable damage.
Otherwise, we are not liable for slight negligence. These limits also apply to the people who work for us.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. App stores
If you downloaded WeUplifted from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its content and have no obligation to provide support for it; please contact us instead. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We will tell you about important changes in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using WeUplifted and delete your account before then.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
If something is wrong, please talk to us first at hello@weuplifted.com; most issues can be solved quickly. We are not obliged and not willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest remains in force.
