Community Guidelines
Last updated 4 November 2026
The WeUplifted community is a gentle place. People come here on hard days, after breakups, during grief, while rebuilding their confidence. Every post can make someone feel less alone, or more alone. These guidelines help us keep it a place where people feel safe enough to be honest.
They apply to everything you share: posts, comments, poems, encouragements, your name and avatar, and direct messages.
1. Lead with kindness
- Encourage, don't judge. Assume people are doing their best.
- Offer support, not lectures. "That sounds really hard" often helps more than advice.
- Celebrate other people's wins, big and small.
- Disagree gently, and never attack the person.
2. Keep each other safe
It's okay to share that you are struggling. Honesty about pain is welcome here.
- Never encourage, glorify or give instructions for self-harm, suicide or disordered eating. Don't share graphic details or methods, even about your own experience.
- If someone seems to be in danger, report their post or profile so we can see it, and encourage them to reach out to people who can help.
- Don't give medical, medication or diagnosis advice. Share what helped you, and suggest professional support.
If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency number (112 in the EU, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US and Canada) or a crisis line. You can find free helplines in your country at findahelpline.com. The community is full of caring people, but it can't replace urgent help.
3. No hate, harassment or bullying
- No attacks, slurs or demeaning content about anyone's race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, body or health.
- No threats, intimidation, stalking, or encouraging others to pile on someone.
- No repeated unwanted contact. If someone doesn't reply or blocks you, let it go.
- No mocking someone's pain, appearance or story.
4. Respect privacy
- Never share anyone's private information: full names of people in your story, addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, photos or screenshots of private conversations.
- You can talk about an ex, a parent or a friend, but don't name or expose them.
- What people share here stays here. Don't screenshot and post others' content elsewhere.
5. Keep it appropriate
- No sexual or sexually suggestive content, and no nudity.
- Zero tolerance for anything that sexualises or endangers minors. We remove it, close the account and report it to the authorities.
- No graphic violence or gore.
- No content that promotes illegal drugs, weapons or other illegal activity.
6. Be real
- Don't impersonate other people, brands or WeUplifted staff.
- Don't post false or harmful health claims, or "miracle cures".
- Share poems and quotes that are yours, or credit the author.
- One account per person. Don't create accounts to get around a block or suspension.
7. No spam or selling
- No ads, promotions, affiliate links, sales pitches, or requests for money.
- No chain posts, repeated identical posts or follow-for-follow schemes.
- No bots or automation to post, like or earn points.
8. Sending support
You can send other members ready-made messages of encouragement. There is no private chat, so please never ask anyone in a post or comment to move to another app, share personal details or photos, or meet in person.
9. Reporting and blocking
- Report any post, comment, poem or profile with the "…" menu. Reports are anonymous: the person won't know who reported them.
- Block someone from their profile. They won't be able to send you support or comment on your posts, and you won't see their content.
- We review reports as quickly as we can, prioritising anything that suggests someone may be at risk.
10. What happens when the guidelines are broken
Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before, we may:
- remove the content;
- send a warning;
- temporarily limit posting, commenting or messaging;
- suspend or permanently close the account.
We may also filter words automatically. For serious harm, such as threats to someone's life or content involving minors, we may contact the authorities.
If you think we made a mistake, write to hello@weuplifted.com within six months. A person will review your appeal and reply.
11. Thank you
Thank you for helping make WeUplifted a place where people feel lighter when they leave than when they arrived. Be the kind of person you needed on your hardest day.
